A Game Winning Strategy for UNO Attack!
You can build your reputation as a competitive UNO Attack! player by formulating a winning strategy that you employ during the game. Once you fully understand how the game is played, and familiarize yourself with the types of cards and their corresponding rules, design a covert strategy that none of the other players will pick up on.
-
Observation
-
One of the tactics in the game UNO Attack! is to prevent other players from seeing your hand of cards. If your opponents know what colors or numbers your cards are, they may intentionally change things up, just to beat you, when it's their turn to place a card in the pile. By observing the behavior of your opponents and paying attention to the primary colors they keep throwing down into the pile, you can try to select cards from your own hand to throw them for a loop. For example, if you notice that the player to your left keeps getting rid of red cards, you can try to stump him by changing the color of the cards to green or blue.
Reserving The Specialty Cards
-
Holding the specialty cards in the UNO deck, such as the Reverse, Skip, Wild and Wild Draw Four cards, can benefit your game, but can be unfortunate for your opponents. A winning strategy is to hold onto these cards for later use. While you might be inclined to get rid of them early on in the game, saving some of the specialty cards for when your opponents are low can prevent them from yelling "UNO" first.

Hit Command Card
-
Each UNO Attack! game has two Hit cards, which are command cards that allow players to operate the attack launcher. The attack launcher is the battery-operated machine that sits in the center of the players and, when the "Fire" button is pressed on the machine, it launches an undetermined number of cards out through an open slot. When you come upon a Hit command card in your hand, you get the one-time chance to control the attack launcher. The strategy for using the attack launcher against your opponents is to aim it at the player who has the fewest cards remaining. Doing so will build that player's hand of cards back up so that he doesn't beat you by calling out "UNO" first.
"Fire" Button
-
When you don't have a card to add to the pile that is either the same color or number as the card being played in the round, you are required to aim the attack launcher at yourself and press the "Fire" button. This is an unfortunate move because it means that an undetermined number of cards will be fired at you from the attack launcher, which increases your hand. Your game strategy should be to always play whatever card you can from your hand so that you can continue in the round without having to press the "Fire" button. Even if you were planning on using a certain card in the next round, do what you can to avoid having to shoot cards at yourself from the attack launcher.
