My Acer AL1516 Is Blurry
At 1024 by 768 pixel resolutions, the Acer AL1516 produces sharp and clear images. However, problems with blurry images and text can result from improper display settings, issues with video graphics cards and cable connection problems. The 15-inch flat panel liquid crystal display monitor is compatible with computers that support VGA connections.

Resolution
-
The Acer AL1516 LCD monitor supports a maximum resolution of 1280 by 1024 at a 75Hz refresh rate. Images on the monitor can appear blurry if the display settings on the computer don't match the monitor's maximum resolution. Although the monitor can support lower resolutions, images at lower resolutions won't be as sharp and clear as they are when the computer is set to output in the monitor's maximum resolution. Lower resolutions increase the size of images, which can result in those images becoming pixelated. You can adjust your computer's output resolution in the Appearance and Settings part of the Control Panel.
Video Card
-
The built-in video card on your computer plays a crucial role in the Acer AL1516's picture quality. If the drivers used to operate the video card are either damaged or outdated, the image quality on the monitor diminishes. Not only will the images appear blurry, color, brightness and contrast settings might appear off. To sharpen images and improve display, download and install the latest video card drivers from the computer manufacturer's website. You can often get updated drivers for your video card from either your computer's manufacturer or the manufacturer of the video card.

Settings
-
Besides the controls on the operating system used to configure the LCD screen, the Acer AL1516's menu lets you adjust image settings to improve the display. The Focus option in the Tracking submenu lets you set the monitor's focus. If the Focus isn't configured properly, images appear blurry and unclear. Increasing this feature's levels removes horizontal distortion and sharpens images. Additionally, adjusting the V-Position in the Position submenu changes the vertical position of the images on the screen to improve display.
Video Cable
-
In some cases, the cables you're using to connect the AL1516 monitor to a computer may be the problem. If the cables are damaged or loosely connected, image quality diminishes. The Acer AL1516 is only compatible with a VGA cable for input signals. Verify the cable is tightly connected to both the back of the monitor and the computer.
