The Nook Color Can't Install Angry Birds

Developed by Rovio, "Angry Birds" is a multimedia game featuring a group of angry birds chasing after eggs stolen by a legion of pigs. On a Nook Color, the high-definition game can be downloaded directly from the App Store built into the tablet. If you're unable to install this multimedia, puzzle game, Nook Color provides ways to resolve app download problems.

  1. Network Connection

    • "Angry Birds" must be installed from the Android Market, which is built-in to the Nook Color; however, the app fails to download if you don't have a valid wireless connection. If you're not connected to a wireless network or if you're out of a wireless connection range, the app won't install. If the Wi-Fi connection icon doesn't appear on the right side of the status bar on the screen, check the wireless router you're connected to. If you're using a private wireless connection, connect another device such as a laptop to it. If the connection is still faulty, pressing the "Reset" button on the wireless router usually restores network connectivity. If you're connecting to a secure Wi-Fi network, you must enter the password to connect to the Internet. If the wireless connection problem persists, contact your Internet Service Provider.

    Battery

    • If your Nook Color's battery is running low on power, you can't install "Angry Birds." If the Nook Color displays a low-battery warning, indicating that you should charge the tablet, connect it to your computer or an AC outlet. If the battery is dead, it usually takes at least 15 minutes for it to charge before you can use it. To perform several functions, Barnes & Nobles usually recommends maintaining at least a 25 percent charge. In addition, the company recommends charging the device in an environment that is between 41 and 95 degrees F.

    Resetting

    • If you're still unable to download "Angry Birds," the problem may be with the Nook Color's operating system, so reset the device. If the device is unresponsive or behaving erratically, press and hold the "Power" button for 20 seconds to reset the device. The tablet shuts down automatically. Press the power button again to power the device. After resetting the tablet, try downloading "Angry Birds" again.

    Tips

    • If you're still unable to install "Angry Birds," log in to your online Barnes & Noble account and review your account information. Barnes & Noble must have a valid credit card to install apps, so if you're credit card has expired, you must enter a new one or update the information before you can install "Angry Birds." Ordinarily, Barnes & Noble sends a courtesy email reminder if your credit card is expiring soon. Contact Barnes & Noble if you're still unable to install "Angry Birds."
