Text Problems With Yahoo
Yahoo Mail offers a chat feature that enables you to send text messages to your contacts' mobile phones. There are several reasons you may be having trouble sending the text messages. If you've clicked on the "Action" tab and chosen "Send an SMS Message," your text should be sent immediately to your contact. If not, make sure you have the correct number and check that you have the latest version of Yahoo.
-
Correct Number
-
Make sure you have the recipient's correct phone number entered in your Yahoo contacts. If you've typed it incorrectly or if the recipient has canceled or changed his number, the text won't be sent successfully. If you have the recipient's email address or some other way of contacting him, confirm the number.
Compatible Area
-
Yahoo supports text messaging to phones in many countries, but not all. If your text message won't go through, check the recipient's home country to make sure it is supported by Yahoo. Not every carrier in the supported countries can receive text messages, so check the carrier's compatibility as well.

Area Code
-
If your town doesn't require you to dial an area code to make a call within the town, you'll still need the area code to text through Yahoo. Check your contact list to make sure all contacts have a 10-digit phone number entered that includes the area code. Even if you don't need it to call the person on a phone, you'll need it to send a text message.
Message Length
-
Yahoo restricts the number of characters in a text message to 158. If you write more than that in your message, your text may not send, or it may send as multiple messages. This can quickly run up your recipient's mobile phone bill if he doesn't have an unlimited texting plan. Keep your text messages short to ensure they reach your recipients in their entirety.
