Samsung BD P1600 Netflix Problems
The Samsung P1600 Blu-ray disc player has the ability to connect to the Internet and access numerous online applications, including streaming video playback through Netflix. Problems with playback can occur due to Internet connectivity issues, the type of home network your Blu-ray player is connected to and the amount of time your Blu-ray disc player has been on.
-
Location of Your Blu-ray Disc Player
-
Your Samsung P1600 Blu-ray disc player features Wi-Fi capabilities. Wi-Fi-enabled devices should have a clear line of sight to the wireless access point that they are connected to when possible. In situations where your Blu-ray disc player is not in the same room as your wireless router, place the Blu-ray disc player in an area where it has unrestricted access to your Wi-Fi signal. Avoid placing your Blu-ray disc player in an enclosed entertainment center that could block your Wi-Fi signal.
Wired Internet Connections
-
A study released by Epitiro in 2011 found that wireless home Internet connections were up to 30 percent slower than wired Internet connections. While Wi-Fi connections provide a greater amount of flexibility when connecting to the Internet, video streaming requires a strong and fast Internet connection to maintain consistent video quality.

Bandwidth
-
Internet bandwidth can be a contributor to problems with Netflix streaming on your Samsung Blu-ray disc player. Any software program or device that connects to the Internet uses bandwidth, including smartphones, video game consoles and Web browsers. Turn off any devices that you are not actively using when streaming video through Netflix to conserve bandwidth. You can test your bandwidth by logging on to Speedtest.net and clicking "Begin Test."
Power Cycling
-
All electronic devices may need to be power cycled after prolonged use. To power cycle your Blu-ray disc player, unplug it from the power source and plug it back in after ten seconds. Your cable modem and wireless router may also need to be power cycled you are experiencing Internet connectivity problems.
