QWOP That Works on Chrome
"QWOP" is a free game where you play as an Olympic runner-in-training, controlling your character's limb motions with the Q, W, O and P letter keys. "QWOP" should work in an updated version of Google Chrome with the Adobe Flash plug-in enabled. If the game isn't working, you may need to update the browser or enable Flash through Chrome's "Plug-ins" page. Once your browser is up to date and you've enabled Flash, you have a couple of options for playing "QWOP."

Since "QWOP" works in current versions of the Chrome Web browser, the first thing you should do is check Chrome for updates. While the browser tries to automatically update whenever updates are available, you may be experiencing a problem that prevents this automatic process from occurring. Look for the small wrench icon near the upper-right corner of Chrome's user interface. If the icon is accompanied by a small green arrow, an update is available. Click the wrench, choose "Update Google Chrome," and click "Restart" when prompted. "QWOP" should now work in your updated version of Chrome.

As a Flash-based Web game, "QWOP" won't work if Flash is disabled. To make sure it's enabled, open a new tab and type "chrome://plugins" into the address bar before pressing "Enter" on your keyboard. If you see an option to "Disable" Flash, then it's currently enabled. If you see "Enable," click it to enable the plug-in. Chrome automatically updates Flash when new updates are available, so the problem isn't a matter of Flash being out of date.

The Chrome Web Store is the official website for downloading and installing Google Chrome Extensions. The store has a "QWOP" extension, allowing you to install it as an app. Once installed, open a new tab and select "Apps," where "QWOP" should be listed. While this is convenient for quickly accessing the game, all it really does is take you to a website to play a browser-based version of the game that works in other Web browsers, as well.

Another easy way to access "QWOP" is to visit the official website for the game (see Resources). Once there, select "Games" and "QWOP." You can save the page as a bookmark, giving you quick access to the game. While this method is similar to Chrome's "QWOP" extension, it places the link to access the game in your Bookmarks, not on new tabs.

Even if you've got "QWOP" working perfectly in Google Chrome, you may mistakenly think it's not. The difficult and precise coordination and timing the game requires may have you thinking it's not working properly. If you can start the game, get past the title screen and move the character, then it's working. The best way to improve at "QWOP" is to practice and determine the correct timing for pressing the Q, W, O and P buttons.
