The Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 is a series of notebook and laptop personal computers that Japanese computer technology company Toshiba Corp. debuted in 2008. An entry of the company's spruced-up offshoot of the flagship Satellite PC brand, the L300 is designed as a mid-level computer. With a widescreen display that measures 15.4 inches diagonally and a 1,280-by-800-pixel resolution, the Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 runs on the Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system and an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. The laptop relies on the Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD for its video and graphics capabilities, modem for fax, 10/100 Ethernet for wired networking and Intel Wi-Fi Link 5100AGN adapter for wireless networking. Memory and storage consists of 2 gigabytes of RAM, a 250-gigabyte hard drive and CD/DVD writer. A 75-watt AC adapter and 6-cell lithium-ion battery supplies its power.
Setting Up

The adapter must be connected to the DC-IN outlet at the side of the Toshiba Satellite Pro L300, with the other end plugged into an electrical socket. On the laptop, the battery must also be fitted into the slot at the back of its base. In addition to supplying power, the adapter charges the battery.

The Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 has three USB 2.0 ports for hooking up certain electronic devices. This includes printers for printing/copying/scanning jobs, iPods and iPhones for charging their batteries, and camcorders and cameras for photo and video transfers. An ExpressCard slot at the computer's right side accommodates insertion of expansion cards such as TV tuner cards, graphics cards, wireless network interface cards and sound cards. Also included are an RJ-11 port for the modem, RJ-45 port for Ethernet, video graphics array port for hooking up an external monitor and headphone and microphone jacks.
Troubleshooting

In some instances, the operating system of the Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 may stop responding. this problem is characterized by a program freezing all computer operations. Pressing Ctrl, Alt and Del simultaneously would bring up the Start Task Manager option to select. Once selected, the Windows Task Manager appears and you can click "End Task" on the faulty program to close it. That way, you do not need to shut down the computer completely. Other troubleshooting pointers that the Resource Guide provides include problems with the screen display, ExpressCard slot and keyboard.
