My Skype Window Is Always on Top
Skype connects friends and family miles apart through face-to-face video chat online. While you may not have a need to multitask while using Skype, some users may require the Skype window to remain on top of their other applications while in use. Personal settings in Skype in addition to other third party programs may keep the Skype window on top of others.

Skype Preferences
-
Preferences inside of Skype can render your Skype window on top of others during calls. To disable this feature, launch Skype and click the "Preferences" menu. Open the "Calls" option and deselect the "Show current calls when Skype is in the background" to minimize the Skype window during an active call.
Windows 7 Pinning
-
Windows 7 introduced the ability to "Pin" items to the taskbar and always be available. Pinning an application to the task bar will not place the window on top of other active windows, but will leave the program icon on your task bar, even when not in use. To unpin Skype, right click on the "Skype" icon and select "Unpin this program from the taskbar."

Remove Skype Icon from the Taskbar
-
The standard installation of Skype will automatically create a taskbar icon in Windows 7. This icon will be placed in your taskbar even if you have not purposefully pinned it. Launch Skype and click the "Tools" option in the menu bar. Select "Options" and click on the "Advanced" tab. Deselect the "Keep Skype on the taskbar while I’m signed in" option to remove the Skype icon from the taskbar.
Third-party Applications
-
Third-party applications including "DeskPins," "Power Menu" and "Auto HotKey Script" can cause your Skype window to remain on top of other windows when multitasking. Disable the third-party application used to give priority to windows or remove Skype from the list of programs affected by your third-party software.
