What Do You Type in to Calibrate Skype?
Setting up Skype is a simple process that only requires a computer or laptop with an Internet connection. The calibration process you use depends on what features you want to utilize within Skype. The only information you will have to type, however, is your personal details when setting up an account or, when using Skype Manager, setting up individuals within your organization.

When setting up Skype for the first time, you will need to create an account in addition to downloading the software on your computer. The "Create Account" dialogue box appears the first time you open Skype if you don't already have an account. As well as choosing a username and password, you will need to enter your first name and your location. This information is visible to anyone on Skype. The box also asks for extra information, such as date of birth, however you do not have to provide this additional information to create an account.
Phone Calls

Using Skype's Skype Out feature, you can make phone calls to landlines and cellphones using the software. To initiate the call, you need to type in the recipient's number, including her area code, if they aren't already stored in your contacts. To do this, click on "Call phones" at the bottom of your contacts list on the left-hand side of the window. If you're calling from a different country, click on the box with the arrow to choose the recipient's country. Use the on-screen dial pad to choose the relevant numbers and then click the green button with the phone symbol.

Video Calls

To make video calls, you will need to have a working webcam. Whether your webcam is built in to your computer or is an external device, make sure this is set up before making the call. Find the contact you want to call and check he is online by looking for a tick in a green bubble next to his name. Click on the button marked "Video Call." During the call, you can change the window size, add other contacts and take snapshots of the screen using the toolbars at the top and bottom of the window.
Skype Manager

Skype Manager enables you to manage the Skype service across a business. To calibrate this, you need to register for Skype Manager, then add the relevant members of your company to the service. You can add their existing Skype accounts to the Manager service, or create new accounts on their behalf. When you provide a US address for your Skype Manager account, a field marked "Channel partner ID" is displayed. If you have a Channel partner ID from a Skype Channel partner, type it into this box. If you don't have one, however, this step isn't mandatory to register with Skype Manager.
