Girls' Night Out Events in Connecticut
Connecticut may be convenient to both Boston and New York City, but it has its own home-grown destinations for a girls' night out. They range from New Haven's lively bar scene to theme restaurants, organized events, online get-togethers and much more.

Organized Events
-
Many groups, ranging from professional organizations to professional event managers, offer periodic girls' night out options that usually include drinks, snacks, gift bags, music and more. Fun Girls Night Out, produced by Clear Vision Productions (aclearvisionproduction.com), offers a Mardi Gras night each April at the Oakdale Theater in Wallingford. The event offers a martini bar, dancing, spa demonstrations and samples, express makeovers, gourmet appetizers, gift bags and much more. Many charities, including the CancerCare of Connecticut (cancercare.org), offer scheduled Girls' Night Out fundraisers with drinks, dinner, auctions and fun.
Theme Experiences
-
Theme restaurants and bars offer a fun atmosphere coupled with unique and tasty food. Sakura Garden (sakuragardencuisine.com) in Glastonbury offers cowboy hibachi chefs, a private party room with hibachi tables, an extensive sake selection, exotic martinis and other mixed drinks, and a full sushi bar. The cowboy hibachi chefs (yes, they're dressed as cowboys) offer an entertaining show while producing your dinner. Escape to the islands at Hula Hank's Island Lounge in Stamford (hulahanks.com), where you can reserve a private beach villa and gorge on drink specials and island food with your friends. Habana (no website; 245 Hope St., Stamford; 203-964-1801) recreates the Cuban experience, with an island ambiance, Latin dance music, a wide selection of Caribbean food and, of course, mojitos.

Gaming and Entertainment
-
The Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Ledyard (foxwoods.com) is a perfect destination for a girls' night out, although you might want to spend the weekend. Apart from gaming, the venue offers fine dining at the Asian-themed Shrine, which late at night transforms into a dance club with cutting-edge DJs, VIP tables, bottle service and celebrity guests. Hard Rock Cafe offers live music, dancing and bar specials. Among the other dining options is Craftsteak, owned and operated by Top Chef's Tom Colicchio. The venue also offers full spa service, including massage, a steam room, a poolside deck and a full range of beauty treatments.
Party at Sea
-
Several tour companies offer dinner cruises off the coast of Connecticut and on some of the state's larger rivers. Options include dedicated party boats with DJs and open bars or rental of a luxury yacht for small parties, offering catered dining and a beautiful view of the Connecticut coastline. Other ideas include lobster cruises, historic cruises and whale-watching cruises. Cruises are usually about three hours in duration, leaving you time to go clubbing before calling it a night. Cruises leave from most ports along the coast, from Stamford to New London. Tour operators include Connecticut Harbor Cruises (connecticutharborcruises.com) and Lexington Classic Cruises (lexingtonclassiccruises.com).
