What Are Purple Pets and Yellow Pets on "Moshi Monsters"?
In the online browser-based game “Moshi Monsters,” you can adopt and care for one of six pet monsters. Once you've chosen a pet, you can care for it, play games with it, interact with pet-owning friends and customize your own virtual living space. “Moshi Monsters” offers pets in many colors of the rainbow, though some monsters start off with purple and yellow hues without any user customization.

Monster Customization
-
From “Moshi Monsters” main page, select the “Adopt a monster” button, located just under “Sign in,” to choose your pet. Select one of the six monsters – a Katsuma, Diavlo, Furi, Zommer, Poppet or Luvli. At the “Choose Your Monster's Color” screen, select a “Main Color” from the box to the right. Colors include light purple, lavender and yellow. To the right of “Main Color,” the “Extra Color” box allows you to choose a secondary color for you pet, including dark and medium purple hues. Once you've chosen a color, you can also choose a gender for your pet monster, after which you'll be prompted with the option to sign up for a “Moshi Monsters” account.
Zommer
-
Without any customization, the Zommer pet monster is the most purple of the Moshi monsters. These zombie-like creatures, fluent in the language of Zommeranian, feature light bluish-purple skin and spiky purple hair. Despite their ghoulish appearance, Zommers are generally friendly. However, you must feed hungry Zommers each day to keep them healthy and free from temper tantrums.

Poppet
-
The cute Poppet sports purplish-pink fur by default. These fuzzy, whiskered creatures – which speak Poppetanium – have shy, timid personalities, typically dancing only in private. Poppets are perhaps the most emotional of all Moshi monsters. These pets display great affection toward their owners, but often cry when their owners answer incorrectly on the game's Daily Challenge feature or scream loudly when hungry or sick.
Katsuma
-
Katsumas, which have an appearance that resembles a rabbit-cat hybrid, are the most popular creatures among “Moshi Monsters” players. Of the initial six-monster lineup, these spunky pets are the closest to yellow, though their shade is a bit closer to yellow-orange with yellow snouts. Katsumas express themselves with squeaky voices in Kasumanese. Feisty Katsumas show a great emotional range from happy and friendly to angry and annoyed. The latter emotional states cause the creatures to enter a jumping frenzy.
