Cannot Log In to Gmail Since I Got AT&T U-Verse
Starting AT&T U-verse Internet and TV service shouldn't prevent you from accessing a Google Gmail account, but if it does, several reasons may to blame. Ruling out each of these errors as a cause for Gmail's failure to log in allows you to regain access to the Gmail account, in some cases without the assistance of AT&T.
-
Website Specificity
-
If the first Internet-related error you notice is an inability to log into Gmail or a difficulty in loading Gmail once you log in, attempt to log in to other websites that require a username and password to see if only Gmail gives you the error. If you also receive the error while logging into your online banking or Facebook account, the error may have to do with browser "Cookies" that store login information. Clear browsing data within your Web browser to reset this information and get rid of these errors.
Google Products
-
Alternatively, Gmail may be one of several Google products malfunctioning -- this indicates an error on Google's part, with its resolution entirely dependent on Google. To see whether this is the case, attempt to log in to your Google account via the home page for another Google product, like Blogger or Picasa. If you aren't able to access the Google account via any interface, the problem lies with Google.

Google DNS Error
-
When you or a technician set up the Internet connection, the computer may have been set to use Google's public "Domain Name Server," a special Internet access sequence designed to speed up the loading of Web pages. Unfortunately, Google's public DNS may actually slow down Web access substantially. You can change the DNS settings within the "Network Connections" portion of the "Control Panel," specifically in the "TCP/IP Connections" dialogue box. You can check a box to automatically apply the DNS of whichever ISP you use to connect the Internet.
Contacting U-Verse Support
-
If you aren't able to resolve Gmail login issues by clearing your browser's cookies or not using Google's public DNS, you may need to contact U-verse support, which can allow a technician remote access to your computer to resolve the underlying error. To discuss repair options with a U-verse technician, call U-verse at 877-722-3755.
