Can I Put TurboTax 2009 Deluxe on More Than One Computer?
An income tax preparation application for Windows and Mac systems, TurboTax 2009 Deluxe lets you file both your federal and state tax returns as well as submit the returns electronically for processing. The application’s End User License Agreement allows you to install the application on multiple computers in your home or business. You can only prepare and electronically file five federal/state returns using the program though, according to the IRS. Any returns exceeding that limit must be paper returns mailed into the IRS.

TurboTax 2009 Deluxe installs from a CD-ROM and includes a wizard that guides you through the installation process. Install the application on the first computer you want it on and then install it on any other computer you want it on -- laptop or desktop system. The wizard works the same on all computers you want to install TurboTax 2009 Deluxe on.
Licensing

The application’s manufacturer, Intuit, allows this multiple-computer license only for computers that are in your home or business. The license doesn’t allow you to duplicate the CD-ROM and sell copies of the TurboTax 2009 Deluxe to others or install the application on computers that are not in your home or business. These actions are direct violations of the application’s EULA.

Each installation works independently of each other on the computers containing the application. Data files are not shared between the installations. TurboTax 2009 Deluxe does not work over a network and you cannot install the application on a computer network and install it on computers via network. The application does let you import TurboTax files from previous versions of the application.

Turbo Tax 2009 Deluxe includes a built-in help component that guides you through any questions you may have about the application as well as how to access online tax preparation information directly from TurboTax. The application is available from online outlets that specialize in tax preparation, productivity and financial software. The application is also available from online auction websites and discount computer/electronics outlets.
