Bluetooth Problems on a ThinkPad X60
Released in 2006, the ThinkPad X60 is an ultraportable laptop PC from Chinese computer technology company Lenovo, a year after it took over manufacture of the PC brand from International Business Machines. Some models have Bluetooth technology included with their wireless networking capabilities; it is used to link personal unwired devices such as smartphones and personal digital assistants. Since Bluetooth is capable of developing any of a variety of problems like other components of the tablet, Lenovo includes troubleshooting links to resolve such issues with the X60.

No Bluetooth Indicator
-
Each Bluetooth-equipped ThinkPad computer, including the X60, has a Bluetooth indicator for enabling its capabilities. However, in the case that it is not turned on, press the Function (Fn) and F5 keys at the same time. This action opens the Wireless Radio Control menu. There, turn on the Integrated Bluetooth features. Usually, Bluetooth shuts down when the computer goes to standby or hibernation mode due to lack of use.
My Bluetooth Places
-
The Lenovo ThinkPad X60 runs on the Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system. Some Bluetooth-equipped ThinkPads based on Windows XP may have a problem finding a device in My Bluetooth Places, which lists the compatible devices connected with the laptop and can be accessed by clicking Start then Control Panel on the computer's desktop. First off, make sure that the intended device is Bluetooth enabled. Also, make sure that no other computer apart from the X60 is searching for the device, since Bluetooth does not allow simultaneous searching. Once you have done that, turn off the Bluetooth feature on the X60 and turn it back on via Wireless Radio Control, or restart the laptop. You should then be able to find the device.

Device Services
-
In some cases, even if devices such as a cellphone or PDA is connected with the ThinkPad X60, the computer might not be able to access the device services as it should. To resolve the problem, double-click My Bluetooth Places, go to Bluetooth Tasks and click View Devices in Range. If the X60 has Windows XP's immediate predecessor, Windows 2000, double-click the Entire Bluetooth Neighborhood icon after double-clicking My Bluetooth Places.
No Connection
-
If there is no Bluetooth connection at all with your ThinkPad X60, first check that the computer and compatible devices are turned on and that they are Bluetooth enabled. Then turn off and turn Bluetooth back on, or restart the laptop. You can reinstall the Bluetooth software if the problem persists.
