Orbit Didn't Install in Firefox

Although Orbit Downloader is compatible with Firefox, the add-on won't integrate with the browser if it isn't installed properly or configured to work with Firefox. Orbit Downloader enables you to download music, flash and streaming movies from the Internet, and includes a tag function to group downloads by selected tags. Orbit provides tips to ensure the add-on integrates seamlessly with Firefox.

  1. Installer

    • When you run the Orbit Downloader installer, the setup wizard guides you through the steps necessary to complete the installation. To complete the installation, you must close Firefox. In addition, Firefox must be integrated with Orbit Downloader to display the add-on. When the Select Additional Tasks screen appears on the setup, select "Firefox" from the "Other browser integrate" section to automatically display Orbit in on the browser's window.

    Settings

    • If you didn't integrate Orbit Downloader with Firefox during the installation process, you can configure the add-on's settings to display the program on the browser. Open the Orbit Downloader's menu after installing the add-on, then select the "Monitoring" tab from "Preferences" to display the program's settings. Click "Firefox" in the "Other browser integrate" section to add Orbit to Firefox. Restart Firefox for the changes to take effect.

    Compatibility

    • If you're using an older version of Firefox, Orbit might not show up on the browser when you complete the installation. This is more likely to happen if you're using a newer version of Orbit. Orbit Downloader is compatible with Firefox 3 and above. If your browser is outdated, upgrade to the latest version, then use the Orbit Downloader menu to integrate the add-on with Firefox.

    Tips

    • If you're running an older version of Orbit that isn't displaying in Firefox, uninstall it completely before installing an updated version. After uninstalling the program using "Programs and Features" in the "Control Panel," delete leftover files from the "Program Files" folder in Windows Explorer. After completing the uninstall process, install a new copy of Orbit Downloader.
