Why Does iTunes Cut the Titles When Importing?
Most songs imported into iTunes include all of the details attached to the song file, including the album from which it comes and the song title. When it comes to music imported from CDs, you must ask iTunes to search Internet-based song databases for song titles, or none will appear. You must have an active Internet connection for iTunes to find the titles.

iTunes Songs

Music purchased from the iTunes Store or other major digital music retailers always has the full song details attached, including the artist and full title. It is only on rare occasions that a song file will be corrupt and not include this information. If the song file does not include the title, the file was inherently damaged. While iTunes does not allow you to redownload the song without paying for it again, you can add the title manually by right-clicking on it and choosing "Get Info."
CDs
-
Music added from a CD will not always include the title information for song files. You must manually set iTunes to search for song titles for imported music. If you do not, when music is imported from a CD the songs will simply be assigned names like "Track 01" and "Track 02." Even if you do ask iTunes to search for song titles, sometimes obscure titles cannot be located and added to the file, so you must do it manually.

Changing iTunes Settings
-
To ask iTunes to search for the titles for imported songs, go to the "Edit" tab and choose "Preferences" from the drop-down menu. Go to the "General" tab in the "Preferences" window and check the box next to "Automatically retrieve CD track names from the Internet." Click "OK" to save your new settings for all future CD imports.
ID3 Tags
-
If a file was created by a program that stores file information in a format other than that used by iTunes, song titles may be missing words or show non-Roman characters. The only way to fix the issue is by reformatting the ID3 tag associated with a song file. After you right-click on a file for which you want to convert the ID3 tag, choose "Convert ID3 Tags" and choose an acceptable format from the list provided by iTunes.
