KS2 has partnered with IBM since its inception.

The Texas-based KS2 Technologies Inc. is a long-standing technology consultant firm and a partner of some of the world's most prominent tech companies. This organization, which traces its history back to the early days of computing, works in hardware, consulting and service realms. At the time of publication, KS2 thrives under the leadership of its original founders.

  1. History

    • Chief e xecutive officer Dan Shinedling, his son and company president Dan Shinedling, Jr., and chief financial officer Eric Kuefler formed KS2 Technologies Inc. in May of 2002. Dan Sr. – who had worked with IBM since 1965 – originally headed up KS2's precursor, DSI Consulting, in 1992. While DSI initially focused on hardware sales and technical support, the company gradually transitioned into programming and application development. The addition of Eric Kuefler to the company in 2001 completed its transition into application support.

    Partners

    • Multinational technology companies such as IBM and Oracle have partnered with KS2 throughout the company's history, tapping the firm for hardware reselling and consulting resources. At the time of publication, KS2 also partners with the building market consultants at Hyphen Solutions, global electronics company Arrow, systems management company NetIQ, the Midrange Performance Group and Vision Solutions, a provider of information availability software.

    Modern Company

    • At the time of publication, KS2 Technologies Inc. makes its home in Grapevine, Texas, under the leadership of the Shinedlings and Kuefler. In 2011, major developments at the company included an expansion of the company's IBM reselling practices into server co-location and hosting under the leadership of new hire Bob Cowain. In addition to its hardware and consulting services, KS2 regularly hosts events and seminars at tech-oriented events and colleges.

    Products and Services

    • KS2 resells technological hardware such as IBM i5 systems and TotalStorage devices, UNIX pSeries servers, Blade servers, Intel xSeries servers and Linux OpenPower servers. In addition to consulting in the areas of programming, development and the Web sphere, KS2 offers services such as operational support, systems migration and performance tuning as well as security audits and capacity planning. Many of KS2's consulting projects help guide construction, interface and data conversion projects in the public and private sector, aiming to keep projects on time and on budget.
