About Config Live Bookmarks
Using Firefox's Live Bookmarks feature is an excellent way to stay informed about your favorite sites without visiting the sites. Live Bookmarks are folders that contain links pointing to Web content to which you subscribe. Firefox updates these links periodically to keep these bookmarks current. You can change the rate at which your Live Bookmarks refresh by updating a preference stored on your About:Config settings page.

Live Bookmarks
-
When you install Firefox, you may see an icon named "Latest Headlines" on the Bookmarks Toolbar. Click that icon, and current news headlines appear as a links in a drop-down menu. Click one of the links, and the site to which the link points opens in your browser. The Latest Headlines icon is a Live Bookmark that contains Web feeds published by news sites. Subscribe to a Web feed by clicking the orange icon that appears next to the Location bar when you visit a website that provides feeds.
About:Config
-
Firefox’s About:Config page contains the preferences that determine how your browser works. The preference that controls how frequently your Live Bookmarks update is on that page. Access it by typing “About:Config” – without the quotes – in your Address bar and pressing “Enter.” You can then type the following text string into the page's “Filter” text box and press “Enter.”
browser.bookmarks.livemark
If Firefox finds that text string, a numerical value appears next to the string. That value determines how often Firefox refreshes your Live Bookmarks. Update the value by double-clicking it and typing a new number in the “Value” text box that appears.

Considerations
-
If your search does not find the text string, right-click anywhere on the page, click "New," and then click "String" to display a text box named "New String Value." Paste "browser.bookmarks.livemark" -- without the quotes -- into the text box and click "OK" to make that string appear on the page. You can then double-click that string and type your desired delay value into the "Value" text box that opens. The value you enter applies to all Live Bookmarks on the browser.
Live Bookmarks Add-ons
-
If you don't feel comfortable updating About:Config, install a Firefox add-on that helps you tweak and manage Live Bookmarks. Find add-ons by searching for "Live Bookmarks" on Firefox's Add-ons page. The Reliby and RSS Ticker add-ons, for example, allow you to reload all Live Bookmarks by clicking a button. Live-click lets you adjust the frequency at which your Live Bookmarks refresh from a convenient graphical user interface.
