Yahoo Messenger and Skype are both popular voice-over IP services that let you have voice and video chat with anyone in the world. These two services are in competition with each other, and as of the date of publication, aren't compatible. However, other Yahoo-derived products are compatible with Skype if you choose to use them together.

When you choose SBC Yahoo DSL service, the company provides you with a router to access that service. Check whether it’s on and the lights on the front panel are green. If you see any red lights, be sure to mention that to the customer service representative. It’s possible that the problem is with your SBC Yahoo-provided router, rather than with your ISP itself.
