How Does Amazon.com Recruit?
When Amazon was launched in 1995, the website's operations were handled from a single garage space in Seattle, Washington. Now, Amazon employs more than 43,000 people from across the world to help run its online marketplace. Maintaining a workforce this large is no easy task. Amazon seeks out talent internally and externally, taking advantage of its in-house recruiting tools, social network presence and online job listings.

-
Similar to its university focus, Amazon recruiters actively pursue military veterans to fill open positions. Recruiters travel to military bases around the United States to meet with interested candidates. Amazon offers veterans a special program to help them transition to civilian life through job opportunities with the company.
