No matter how old you are, sweet acts will impress your mom.

For all the struggles they have been through to raise you and the love they have shown throughout your childhood, moms deserve every sweet gesture. "Sweet" is not synonymous with "expensive," and you can impress your mom with simple but original kind acts. Each gesture must show your genuine interest -- sending a generic card certainly doesn't -- and make your mother feel like "a million dollars."

  1. Mother Poem

    • A poem can help you express your true feeling for your mother in a touching manner. Especially if you are a young child, putting your newly acquired writing skills into practice for a poem to your mom adds an extra touch of sweetness. You can finds poems for mothers available online to get some ideas but don't copy them word for word: it's the effort you put in that makes the poem important. The poem can be hand-delivered or even placed next to your mom's bed, as a sweet wake-up surprise.

    Cooking for Mom

    • It is grueling enough for a mother to perform her best at work let alone cook for the whole family when she returns home. If you are confident enough to cook, become the master of the kitchen for the day and prepare dinner for everyone. Make your mom's favorite food, if you know the recipe, to stress the fact that this dinner is dedicated to her. Make sure you clean the kitchen after you finish cooking and offer to clean the dishes after the meal; otherwise the dream can turn into a nightmare for your mother.

    Mother Crafts

    • Your mother surely appreciates every gift you offer her, but crafts created especially for her have special meaning. Crafts can range from cardboard cards to paper flower bouquets or frames to hold pictures of your mother. Whatever your craft is, it must be clearly targeted to your mom. A paper boat, for example, is not a clear sign of your affection.

    Day Out with Mom

    • Spending a day with your mother can thrill her, especially if you are now a student or working adult and live far away from home. Again, it does not matter if you arrange extravagant massage sessions, expensive meals or lengthy shopping trips, as the most important thing for your mom is to be with you. Choose activities that allow you to talk to each other. Go for a meal instead of watching a movie. Switch off your cellphone and focus on your mom during this special day.
