Ff13 Bahamut Tricks
"Final Fantasy XIII," a role-playing game released in 2010 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, follows a group of adventurers as they attempt to save the world. Throughout their journey, they encounter Eidolons, such as Bahamut, who stand in their way. There are a few tips and tricks you can use to defeat Bahamut, regardless of the system you are playing on.

Bahamut
-
Bahamut in his most recognizable form is that of a giant, purple dragon. He is also well-known to "Final Fantasy" fans for his Mega Flare attack, a powerful blast of breath that damages all enemies on screen. Bahamut has appeared in every Final Fantasy game except "Final Fantasy II." However, while Bahamut is generally a creature that the characters summon on the field, he has had other roles. In "Final Fantasy XII" only his namesake was used for a fortress, and in the original "Final Fantasy" he was a dragon king, bestowing power on the four heroes of light.
Bahamut's Role in "FF XIII"
-
In "Final Fantasy XIII," Bahamut returns as an Eidolon; a summoned spirit that helps a l'Cie, one of the characters you control, when he or she is in danger. However, before an Eidolon can be summoned by a character, you must first prove your strength to it in battle. In this fight, the objective is not to lower Bahamut's health to zero; you must make it bow to your will by proving yourself in a specific way. Each of the six Eidolons, including Bahamut, have different requirements you must complete to defeat it in battle and gain the ability to summon it.

Defeating Bahamut
-
Bahamut appears in the Fifth Ark at the end of Chapter 10. When the fight starts, he casts Doom on your party. If you do not defeat him before the counter above your character's head reaches zero, you lose the battle. To defeat Bahamut, you must raise his gestalt gauge, located above him, fully. To do this, you must satisfy his two requirements: weaken him and withstand his attacks. Use the Saboteur role for Fang to weaken Bahamut and the Medic roles with both Lightning and Vanille to heal the damage Bahamut inflicts. After weakening Bahamut and with everyone at full health, switch Fang to Sentinel and have Lightning and Vanille attack him. Once Bahamut's bar is full, press the button on-screen to conquer Bahamut.
Using Bahamut
-
After defeating Bahamut, you can now use him in battle. The only character that can use Bahamut is Fang, as they are bound together. By using a Technical Point in battle, Bahamut can be brought onto the field. Bahamut can be used in two forms: his humanoid form that you fought earlier or his gestalt form, in which he morphs into a dragon and attacks foes from the sky. When Bahamut's SP gauge reaches zero, he leaves the field. Bahamut is best used when fighting a large amount of powerful enemies; his attack can quickly decimate the ranks of the toughest foes.
