My Yahoo Display URL Promotes an Unacceptable Product
Your Yahoo ad campaign must adhere to the program guidelines defined in your user agreement. In an effort to maintain a family-friendly environment, Yahoo restricts the promotion and linking for products and sites of an adult, illegal or questionable nature. Understanding what products are unacceptable is the first step in complying with the program terms.
-
Drug Content
-
References to any illegal drugs, paraphernalia and products that claim to aid in deceiving drug tests are prohibited under the program guidelines. Similarly, tobacco products like cigars and cigarettes are not allowed. Yahoo prohibits advertising products that contain Ephedra, human growth hormones and other supplements. Yahoo may add or eliminate supplements and ingredients from the list at any time without any prior notice. You cannot include ads marketing prescription drugs available without a prescription or any questionable health supplement.
Adult Content
-
Yahoo prohibits the marketing of adult products and content. Any dating sites that promote casual encounters are prohibited. International relationship services are not permitted as part of the Yahoo advertising programs. Sites and ads with suggestive language or images, or any content that may be considered profane, offensive or defamatory are unacceptable.
-
Illegal Activity
-
You cannot promote anything illegal on the Yahoo advertising network. Bootleg copies of movies or music are not permitted. Illegal software downloads and other copyright violations as well as counterfeit products are prohibited by Yahoo. Any other products or sites that Yahoo deems to have questionable content may also be prohibited. Although gambling is not illegal in every state, sites promoting gambling are not allowed in the Yahoo advertising program.
Fraud
-
You may not link to any sites that promote fraudulent activity. Any sites selling college degrees or other similar certifications or legal documents are not allowed. Pay-per-click sites and schemes that claim to make you rich instantly are typically of questionable validity and prohibited from Yahoo's servers. Peer-to-peer services and file-sharing sites commonly suffer copyright violations due to the nature of some of the content shared on the network. These services may not be advertised on Yahoo.
