Outfit Ideas With Knee High Socks & Boots
Tall boots continue to appear on runways and in clothing stores at the time of publication. Their popularity flared in the early part of the new century, and the boots continue to pair well with a variety of outfits. Layering boots over a pair of knee-high socks is an interesting way to add personality to your outfit and allows you to wear warm-weather clothes during cold months.

Dresses and Skirts
-
Pairing knee socks and boots with a dress or skirt is fashionable but not in all lengths. The skirt or dress you choose should not hang past your knees because it may cover the tops of the socks. One that hits you right above the knee looks sophisticated and trendy. If you prefer longer skirts, choose one that covers the tops of your knee socks. Then wear booties rather than tall boots, creating the same look without the discomfort of a shorter hemline.
Shorts
-
A pair of well-tailored shorts made from a dressy fabric or denim goes well with a pair of knee socks and boots. The trick to this look is to choose a pair that aren't too short or too tight. Choose a pair that hits mid-thigh to create a few inches of bare leg between the hem and the top of your knee socks. This option works with tall boots and ankle boots. Top the shorts with a T-shirt and vest, a tank top and long necklace or a fitted jacket.

Jeans
-
A pair of jeans is versatile style option that pairs with the large majority of your wardrobe. Jeans also allow you to wear knee socks and boots under them for warmth and over them for making a fashion statement. Match your socks to a pair of tall boots and pull them over your jeans legs. Top the ensemble with a fitted sweater or a couple of layered T-shirts. A neutral top allows you to have fun with patterned or colored knee socks.
Leggings
-
Leggings have made a fashion comeback since their popularity in the 1980s and work well with a pair of tall socks and boots. Wear a pair of black leggings under a denim skirt combined with a sweater or tank top. Pull up a pair of brightly colored knee socks and a pair of tall or mid-calf boots. Or try patterned or colored leggings paired with neutral socks and boots. Another look is a long sweater or T-shirt over a pair of leggings with tall socks and casual fur-lined boots that hit mid-calf.
