IE Will Not Post to Craigslist
You don't need a specific Web browser to post to the online classifieds website Craigslist, so Internet Explorer shouldn't prevent you from making a post on the site. Determine the reason your post has failed to successfully publish the post without having to use a Web browser other than Internet Explorer.
-
Verification Process
-
One reason posts fail to publish to Craigslist, regardless of whether you use Internet Explorer, is if you don't complete the verification process. After submitting your post to Craigslist, log into the email account you provided and open the message Craigslist sent you. Click the link within the email to verify that you own the email address, which posts the ad to Craigslist.
Captcha and Cookies
-
A browser-based issue that may cause posting within Internet Explorer to fail is the "Captcha" string Craigslist requires you enter before posting. If you haven't recently cleared your Internet Explorer cookies, IE might not be able to process Captcha inputs, which prevents you from posting. To clear your cookies, select "Internet Options" from the "Network And Internet" section of the Windows Control Panel, then choose the "General" tab and select the "Delete" button under "Browsing History."

Post Removal
-
If you posted to Craigslist but can't locate the posting from Internet Explorer, Craigslist may have removed the post. Craigslist users can "flag" posts they find to be inappropriate or in violation of the site's terms of use. In some instances, Craigslist emails you when the post has been flagged or removed, but this doesn't always happen. If you decide to re-post, make sure to read Craigslist's terms of use before you do so.
Internet Explorer Version
-
If you aren't using the latest version of Internet Explorer, you may experience difficulties using and posting to Craigslist, as well as with other sites. To update Internet Explorer, right-click on the Software Update "flag" icon in the Windows Taskbar and select "Check for Updates." If an update to Internet Explorer is available, Windows prompts you to install it.
