Yahoo! Chat History Location
As of late 2011, Yahoo! Messenger stores all of your chat history online so you can access it anywhere there is an Internet connection. This is true of the Yahoo! Messenger stand-alone program as well as for the browser-based Yahoo! Mail Messenger and Web Messenger chat portals. The process of locating your Yahoo! Messenger chat history varies depending on which of the three portals you are using.

The Yahoo! Messenger program integrates with the Web-based Messenger products so that you can access them without having to open a browser. While signed into Yahoo! Messenger, click "Contacts" and select "Conversation History." Messenger opens a new window and displays your chat history.
Messenger for Web

Yahoo! Web Messenger lets you locate your chat history in a Web browser outside of Yahoo! Mail. After signing in at webmessenger.yahoo.com, click the "Message History" link in the upper right corner. Your chat history appears in a new tab to the right of your inbox tab.

When accessed through Yahoo! Mail, your chat history list is labeled "Conversations." You can access your conversations via a folder tab located on the left side of the screen below the "Inbox" tab. Clicking that tab reveals your chat history in the main window of Yahoo! Mail.
Specific Contacts

Whether you are viewing your overall chat history through the stand-alone Yahoo! Messenger client, Web Messenger or Mail Messenger, you can locate the chat history between you and a specific contact by clicking "With" or "Participant" in the conversation list. This alphabetizes the list by username. Clicking a username shows the associated chat history.
