What Is X3 Player for Mac?
X3 Player, for Mac or PC, is a scam. Do not download X3 player from any website. You may have downloaded a video file that tells you it needs X3 Player to play. The file is fake, and you haven't actually downloaded what you wanted. The X3 Player scam tries to charge you money and install malware on your system.

X3 Player
-
X3 Player is advertised as being able to play any kind of video file. The X3 Player website features a description of its convenient controls and high-video quality, as well as user testimonials, all in an effort to persuade you to download the program. After giving the site your credit or debit card information and spending money, you download a piece of software that does nothing but install spyware and other malware on your system.
Video Torrents
-
One of the ways that the creators of the X3 Player scam attempt to persuade people to buy the program is by releasing phony video files to torrent websites. The files are sized appropriately to look like they may be the movies or videos they are labeled as, but they will not play in any media player. Instead, you get a message saying that you need X3 Player to play the files. Other scammers may use the same tactic. In general, if your video file asks you to download something to play it, delete the file immediately.

It Gets Worse
-
Most computer scams, malware and viruses target your hard drive or software, or perhaps attempt to steal your usernames and passwords to different websites such as your email or Facebook. X3 Player, on the other hand, is more dangerous because it also gains access to your credit card information. In addition to charging the $9.95 download fee for the program, it may also make future charges to your card. Never give your credit card information to an untrusted website.
For Macs
-
X3 Player only has a download available for PC. This is because Macs and Linux machines are not vulnerable to the same virus and malware threats as PCs, and consequently cannot be infected by the X3 Player software. However, you may still see video files asking you to download the program. These are phony, and should be deleted. Anything claiming to be an X3 Player for the Mac is most definitely a scam, and you should not pay for or download it.
