SMS Problems With Skype
Messenger application Skype allows you to send SMS text messages to mobile phones around the world, in addition to being able to call phones and chat via voice, video or text to other Skype messenger users. If you experience difficulty sending text messages to other users via Skype, determine the cause of the error to send the text successfully.

How Errors Display
-
When you click the "SMS" button to send a text message via Skype, two separate messages indicate the message has been sent. The moment you press the button, a "Sent" label appears next to the message. If this doesn't change to "Delivered" within a few moments of sending the message, the message delivery has failed.
Phone Number Format
-
With Skype, it's not only possible to send text messages to domestic phone numbers, but also to international ones. If you experience an error when attempting to send a text message, you may have formatted the number incorrectly. When texting a mobile phone in Argentina, for example, you omit the "9" that usually comes before the number if you call it from another phone in Argentina. To see how to format mobile phone numbers for all countries, consult a resource such as "How To Call Abroad."

Insufficient Account Balance
-
Texting via Skype isn't free and rates vary depending on your country of original and where you send the text. If you experience difficulty sending a text, consult your account balance in the upper, left corner of the screen, then Skype's official list of SMS rates to make sure the current balance is enough to send the text.
Internet Connection Problems
-
All Skype communications occur via the Internet, so if your Internet connection is interrupted before or during the process of sending a text, this may be the reason the text fails to send. To test the Internet connection, attempt to load any Web page within your Web browser. If the Internet connection is down, attempt to reset or if you can't or don't know how, contact your network administrator or the customer service department at your Internet Service Provider.
