Codes to Change the Color of Words on MySpace

Just as paint colors have codes, online text colors have numbers.

You can change the colors of the words on your Myspace profile by adding an HTML module to your profile and then entering the desired HTML font color attributes around your text. You can only do this in an HTML module, and not in other types of modules or profile comments.

  1. HTML Modules

    • Since font colors rely on HTML, and Myspace no longer supports HTML in comments, you must first add an HTML module to your profile before entering colored text. You can find the HTML module in the "Customize" view of your profile. After the module is added, you can click the pencil icon to add text and adjust the color codes accordingly.

    Font Color Attribute

    • In HTML, the font color attribute is <font color="color">Text.</font>. You would replace "color" with an actual color name. For example, <font color="green">This is my Myspace profile!</font> would render as green. You can choose from 147 color names, all of which render properly in all browsers. The Web standards website w3schools.com lists all 147 compatible color names along with their corresponding numerical codes.

    Numerical Color Values

    • Every color name has a corresponding numerical value, which can be in the form of a hex number or an RGB number. For example, <font color="008000">This is my Myspace profile!</font> would render as green. The same would be true if you entered the corresponding RGB code "0,128,0".

    Color Pickers

    • Color names work just as well as color codes for changing Myspace profile text colors, but only 147 color names render properly in all Web browsers. You can use an online color code picker to select from 16 million different shades and hues, but keep in mind that older or less sophisticated computers may not exactly render the results you intended. Try colorpicker.com, kuler.adobe.com or the color picker at w3schools.com.
