Nature Wedding Shower Decoration Ideas
Throwing a wedding shower for an engaged couple requires a lot of planning, but if the couple loves the outdoors, you can incorporate natural elements that will make your job easier. You can use decorations that Mother Nature has already provided for you; consider the season and coordinate your party's theme to match. Outdoor enthusiasts also will appreciate efforts to be environmentally friendly at their shower, so aim for decorations that are recyclable, reusable or compostable.

No venue is better for a nature-loving couple's shower than the great outdoors. Try holding the event in an arboretum, nature center, park or even your own backyard. The foliage and surroundings will be the foundation for your decorations. Hang small lanterns from the boughs of trees and light wicker tiki torches for ambiance that highlights the natural beauty. White lights strung through the branches will draw attention to the setting and you won't have to worry about streamers or banners blowing away as litter.

If you can't hold the wedding shower in nature, bring some of the outdoors in. Place straw bales inside for a fall wedding, bring in tall potted sunflowers and corn stalks for a summer wedding, or hang evergreen wreaths and branches for a winter wedding. Another way to acquire a natural feel without real natural elements is to display wall hangings that have nature-based patterns. Sheets, table cloths, rugs and quilts can all be hung around the venue to add to the atmosphere.

The tables are always central to wedding shower decorations, so deck them out appropriately. Use natural elements of the season, such as bare twigs and pine cones for winter, or brightly colored leaves and gourds for fall. Don't bother buying plastic table coverings; instead, ask guests to bring cloth table coverings from home, particularly those with patterns involving trees, leaves or flowers. Similarly, to avoid using plastic tableware, ask guests to bring their own set of dishes and request that they be nature-themed. Rather than cut flowers as centerpieces, use potted plants that guests can take with them.

Some outdoorsy couples love the animalistic elements of nature as well, and these can be very festive to include in the décor of a wedding shower. Bold leopard, giraffe or zebra prints will add life to a party wherever they are employed, or strategically place faux birds' nests and eggs for a softer animal influence. Or focus on a particular biosphere and decorate using an underwater animal theme with seahorses and sea stars, or go for a woodland theme with rabbits and deer.
