Your blueberry craft can be as simple or complex as you wish.

The rich color of blueberries as well as the sweet taste and appealing shape make them a useful component in many of your craft projects. They work well as a decoration on an existing item, they make a suitable component for many recipes, and they have decorative appeal all of their own.

  1. Blueberry Hair Clip

    • Blueberries make an attractive addition to hair clips because they add a splash of blue as well as a round texture. Paint three foam balls (one-half-inch wide) a deep blue. Sprinkle them with glitter just before the paint dries. Cut three stars of bright green fabric felt. Glue the felt stars to the foam balls. Glue the foam balls to a long hair clip. Line the bottoms of the fake blueberries with small white flowers for added decorative appeal. Allow the clip to dry before moving it.

    Blueberry Plates

    • A plate designed to look like a blueberry is a simple craft that you can share with the younger members of your family. Paint a paper plate blue. Cut a three-spiked crown shape out of light-green construction paper. Glue the piece of construction paper to the back of the paper plate so the three spikes point up. This makes the construction paper look like the base of the blueberry’s stem. Allow the plate to dry and use it to serve snacks. For a more in-depth project with a permanent result, paint a ceramic plate with glaze to make it look like a blueberry. Fire it in a kiln to create a permanent blueberry craft.

    Blueberry Recipes

    • Adding some blueberries to your favorite desserts is a craft that gives you a tasty reward. Open your recipe book and check for food items that could involve blueberries. For example, consider adding a rich blueberry salsa to the top of your next cheesecake. Instead of putting peaches or apples in your cobbler, use blueberries. Traditional blueberry recipes such as blueberry muffins and blueberry pancakes allow you to enjoy the sweet taste while staying in your cooking comfort zone as well.

    Blueberry Clothing

    • Choose a white garment you think would look good with a blueberry design. Lay it on a flat surface and iron it to straighten out all the wrinkles. Paint blueberries onto the garment using blue fabric paint. Use three different shapes of blue to create an attractive three dimensional effect. Light blue for the bright spot, medium blue for the body and dark blue for the shadowed area. Allow the paint to dry before you move the garment.
