Birthday Party Ideas for "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a television series about a girl named Buffy who is a vampire slayer. She was “called” to battle demons, vampires and other forces of darkness. If you have an older child who loves the show, consider throwing a Buffy the Vampire Slayer-themed party for her to enjoy. From the invitations to the party games, you can plan a party the guest of honor and her friends will be talking about for months. Does this Spark an idea?

Invitations
-
After selecting the date and time, mail out some Buffy-themed invitations. Make your own invitations by printing pictures of Buffy and other show characters. Tape the pictures to pieces of poster board and write the party details on the back. Write, “Come help me stop demons and vampires at _______’s Birthday Party.” Put Buffy the Vampire Slayer-themed stickers all over the invitation and envelope.
Decorations
-
Make your own Buffy the Vampire slayer decorations by printing several pictures from the show and of the characters. Laminate the pictures to make them more durable. Hang the pictures on the walls and from the ceiling. Decorate the party area with dark-colored balloons, streamers and tableware. Tape small pictures or use stickers to decorate basic balloons. Buffy the Vampire Slayer posters are available online and at some retail stores. Hang the posters on the wall and on the entry door. Play the Buffy series soundtrack with songs like “Close Your Eyes” and “Once More, With Feeling” as the guests arrive.

Activities
-
Have guests sit down and watch the first and second episodes of the show. This will give everyone some insight into the characters, theme and storyline. The first and second episodes are “Welcome to the Hellmouth” and “The Harvest.” Play the Buffy-themed songs on a karaoke machine and allow guests to sing along to the words. Dress any willing party guests as vampires. Paint their faces white, give them fake fangs to wear and use red lipstick to draw blood dripping from their mouths.
Games
-
For a twist on a classic party game, organize a game of “Pin the Stake on the Vampire.” The player who pins the stake closest to the vampire’s heart wins the game. Another idea is a Buffy the Vampire trivia game. Create a trivia with questions about the two episodes the guests watched. Alternatively, create a trivia about all the episodes to see who knows the most about the show. Some questions include “Who played Buffy,” “Why is Anya scared of bunnies” and “What poster was on Buffy and Willow’s freshman year dorm college room?”
