Easy Scene Makeup
"Scene" is a name for a teenage subculture centered around emo music. A “scene” teenager stereotypically wears slim-fitting jeans, bright colors, and short-sleeved shirts. Scene teenagers are known for wild hairstyles with brightly dyed hair. Scene makeup is primarily focused on dark, bright eye makeup and pale skin. Lipstick and blush are not typically worn in scene makeup because they detract from the eyes and add too much color to the face. Does this Spark an idea?

Eyeliner
-
Dark eyeliner is the most common feature of scene makeup. Black is the most common, but purple and blue are also popular. Because scene makeup features intense, heavy makeup, most scene kids opt for a liquid eyeliner. Use an angled brush to apply the eyeliner to your lower eyelid. Apply eyeliner to your upper eyelid or just on the outer half for a cat eye look.
Eye Shadow
-
Scene makeup features bright and neon shades of eye shadow. Choose a matte eye shadow in a bright color that complements your clothing. Before applying the eye shadow, prime your lids with an eye shadow primer. This will keep your eye shadow in place longer than just the powder alone. After applying the primer, use a medium-sized eye shadow brush to sweep the eye shadow from your inner eyelid out. For additional flair, apply two complementing eye shadows at once. Apply the lighter of the two shades first on your inner eyelid. Finish by applying the darker shade on your outer eyelid and blend the shades until seamless. .

Fake Eyelashes
-
Fake eyelashes draw extra attention to the eyes and balance out the vivid colors of scene eye shadow. When purchasing fake eyelashes, ensure that the product comes with matching glue. To attach fake eyelashes, first apply a layer of eyelash glue to your upper eyelid on the lash line. Wait 30 seconds before attaching the eyelashes. When attaching the eyelashes, start from the inner corner and work out. Use tweezers to apply the lashes one by one and let the lashes dry for five minutes. After the lashes dry, curl the eyelashes with an eyelash curler. For extra intensity and an especially emo look, apply both top and bottom fake eyelashes. If you feel uncomfortable applying them, apply two to three coats of mascara in lieu of fake eyelashes.
Foundation
-
One of the trademarks of the scene look is pale skin. One of the benefits of a pale look is that it creates additional contrast with intense eye makeup. When picking out a foundation, choose one that is a shade lighter than your natural skin tone. Before applying foundation, wash your face and moisturize to help the foundation go on evenly. Shake the bottle of foundation and apply dots of the liquid to your forehead, chin, cheeks and nose. Use a makeup sponge to spread the foundation evenly around your face. Pay special attention to your jaw line to ensure you don't have a noticeable line of makeup. Avoid applying blush or rouge to the cheeks; this detracts from the trademark pale scene appearance.
