Champagne and lilacs' soft hues complement each other well.

Flowers and champagne are two popular items you can find at wedding celebrations, as they both bring to mind a sense of romance. Lilacs in particular provide a soft purple or blue hue to décor and give off a sweet scent to add to the ambiance. Make your own romantic lilac and champagne centerpieces to save a little money on your big day.

  1. Champagne Vases

    • Turn old champagne bottles into vases and fill them with lilacs. This is a useful way to recycle champagne bottles and save money on expensive vases. Fill vases with lilac bouquets or arrange bouquets around the bottom of your champagne bottles. Wrap lilac ribbon around your champagne vase to add flair.

    Floral Champagne Holders

    • Keep your champagne chilled by adding ice to your centerpiece. Fill glass ice buckets with ice and top with champagne bottles. Add artificial lilacs atop the ice or use real bouquets wrapped around the base of the ice bucket. Glue artificial lilacs to the sides of your ice bucket to transform a plain glass bucket into a gorgeous floral champagne chiller.

    Floating Candles

    • Floating votive candles add a soft, dreamy appearance to your wedding centerpieces and you can easily incorporate lilacs and champagne. Fill decorative glass bowls halfway with water and light white or lilac-colored tea lights, then place them in the water. Next take artificial or real lilacs, cut off the stems and float them in the bowls as well. Fill glass flutes with champagne and line them up around the bowl.

    Gift Baskets

    • Make gift basket centerpieces so that guests can enjoy small trinkets to take home. Wrap small lilac bouquets with ribbon and place them in baskets; add individual-sized bottles of champagne. Guests can choose to enjoy the champagne at the wedding or take it home and save it for another time. Add small comment cards instructing guests on how to care for their lilac bouquets to make them live longer and smell their best.
