Gifts for the Avid Scrapbooker

Scrapbooking gifts are appropriate for any holiday.

Many avid scrapbookers have shelves or an entire room full of supplies, so buying your favorite crafter a gift that she doesn’t already have can be a challenge. When you do pick a gift she can use, however, she’ll think of you every time she sits down in front of her favorite hobby.

  1. Books and Magazines

    • No matter how experienced your favorite scrapbooker is, she can always learn new tricks from others. Books and magazines about scrapbooking will provide her with new ideas or help her perfect her skills. She may already have some related books, so scour her bookshelves if possible before buying a book, or buy her a newly released book to reduce the chances of her already owning it. A subscription to a scrapbooking magazine will also provide her with new tips and tricks once a month.

    Photos

    • No scrapbook is complete without photos, but printing them off can be expensive and time-consuming. Give her a gift certificate for a photo-printing company, or buy her a photo printer along with ink and photo paper so she can print off her own pictures at home. If you’re a close friend or family member, print off your own photos that are relevant to her. Make copies of photos from any trips you took or events you attended together.

    Supplies

    • When she scrapbooks frequently, she may run out of crucial supplies at any time. Stock a basket with scrapbooking essentials like scissors, stickers, markers, photo corners and a handful of paper. Items that are new to the market will also excite her. At the craft store, ask the employees to point out the newest pens or scissors. To help her make a holiday scrapbook, pick up stickers and paper in the theme of the next holiday. She’ll be able to get to work on a Halloween scrapbook on November 1st.

    Classes

    • If she only works on scrapbooks alone at home, signing her up for classes gives her the chance to meet new people with similar interests, and working with an instructor can help a self-taught scrapbooker learn new skills. Sign her up for a one-time course or for a series of classes, depending on your budget. Check with your local community college to find an adult education course, or contact your local craft store. Many of these shops offer monthly courses right in the store.
