Blue Jean Pocket Bear Craft

Blue jeans pockets can be used as the basis for craft projects.

Recycling and reusing clothing is one option when you no longer wear or need an item. Crafts using blue jeans can range from cutting the jeans into shorts or using the fabric for other projects. Combining blue jean pockets and teddy bears is a way to turn a plain pair of denim pants into something unique and customized.

Peek-a-Boo Bear

Transforming a pair of blue jeans by adding embellishments to the pockets is one way to breathe new life into an older article of clothing. Creating a peek-a-boo bear pocket in blue jeans can add an element of cuteness to back pockets of jeans. Embellish the pocket by attaching rhinestones or gems to the edges with fabric glue. Line the pocket seam with clear or colored stones. Insert a small teddy bear into the back pocket of the jeans and secure using small safety pins. Remove the teddy bear before washing the jeans.

Christmas Stocking

Crafting a Christmas stocking out of a pair of blue jeans is one way to reuse the jeans. Lay the jeans down, back side facing upwards, and cut out the stocking, making sure to include the back pocket. Sew the edges together, leaving only the top open where the belt loops are located. Position a small teddy bear in the pocket of the jeans and hang the pocket facing forward. Decorate and embellish the blue jean stocking by using fabric paint, felt appliques and rhinestones.

Blue Jean Bear

Transform a blue jean pocket into a teddy bear using the natural shape of the pocket itself as the basis of the bear. Cut the pocket out of the blue jeans and leave all edges open. Take a teddy bear and remove the arms, legs and head from the bear. Turn the pocket upside down, so the wider portion is at the bottom. Attach the teddy bear legs, arms and head to the pocket and sew all open edges and connections closed using a heavy duty thread. If you need to add extra stuffing to the inside of the pocket, use cotton balls or polyester filling found at craft supply stores.

Teddy Bear Pants

To give a teddy bear a simple pair of pants, cut out the back pocket of a pair of blue jeans. Cut leg holes for the teddy bear at the bottom of the pocket using a sharp pair of fabric scissors. Insert the teddy bear into the blue jean pocket and pin the pocket to the bear to hold in place.
