Does a Fujitsu Scanner Work With Snow Leopard?
Fujitsu scanners are available for both Windows and Mac systems as well as computers running the Linux operating system. The scanners are even compatible with Mac’s Snow Leopard operating system, also known as Mac OS X v10.6. Free device update packages are available directly from Fujitsu for ScanSnap S1500M, S300M, S510M and S500M scanners. Snow Leopard-compatible update packages are also available for other Fujitsu scanner models.

Preparing

Save and close any open documents including word processing, spreadsheet and other files. Click on the ScanSnap icon on your Mac's Dock and click "Quit" to close the ScanSnap Manager, if you already have a version of ScanSnap Manager on your system from a previous Mac operating system. Close any other open applications except for your Mac’s Internet browser.
ScanSnap S1500M Driver

Navigate your Internet browser to the “ScanSnap S1500M - Mac OS X v10.6” link to download the update package for your Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500M scanner. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the update package. Connect your ScanSnap S1500M scanner when prompted, if it is not already connected to your system. Restart your Mac when prompted.

Navigate your browser to the “ScanSnap S300M, ScanSnap S510M, ScanSnap S500M - Mac OS X v10.6 ” link to download the update package for your Fujitsu ScanSnap S300M, S510M or S500M scanner. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the update package. Connect your ScanSnap scanner when prompted, if it is not already connected to your system. Restart your Mac when prompted.

Navigate your Internet browser to the “ScanSnap Driver Information - ScanSnap for Mac” link if you have a ScanSnap scanner other than a S1500M, S300M, S510M or S500M. Click the link under the “Software Utility“ heading next to your scanner model number to download the update package to your Snow Leopard system. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the update package and connect your ScanSnap scanner, if it is not already connected to your system. Restart your Mac when prompted.
