FeedBurner Ping Doesn't Update in WordPress
FeedBurner is a service offered by Google that enables advanced syndication of website content. FeedBurner will allow content published to your WordPress site to be syndicated to remote sites and readers. The method WordPress uses to notify FeedBurner that new content is available is known as a ping. Normally, FeedBurner is updated automatically. You will need to troubleshoot your feed in the event that FeedBurner does not update when content on your site is updated.

Real Simple Syndication
-
Real Simple Syndication (RSS) is a standardized format for publishing syndicated content on the Internet. RSS is a method that allows remote sites to republish your content or for you to republish the syndicated content of other sites. The feed is the backbone of RSS. A feed is nothing more than the updated stream of RSS content from an individual site as new blog posts or site updates are made.
FeedBurner
-
FeedBurner was acquired by Google in 2007. FeedBurner is a service designed to facilitate the publishing and management of RSS feeds. FeedBurner offers the ability to track and analyze the audience for your site's RSS feeds, as well as insert advertisements into your feed, with an optional Google AdSense account. In the context of RSS with FeedBurner, a ping is the method your site uses to notify FeedBurner that content has been added or updated.

FeedBurner with WordPress
-
FeedBurner uses the Extensible Markup Language (XML) to syndicate a website's content. FeedBurner offers an XML service named Pingshot that enables your site's feed to be automatically updated. If you have not configured FeedBurner to use PingShot, first enable this service through the FeedBurner administrative interface.
Troubleshoot FeedBurner
-
Activate Pingshot in the FeedBurner administrative interface. Manually ping your feed with FeedBurner, available through a "Pinging FeedBurner" link within the "Troubleshootize" tab of the administrative interface. After this, update your feed and publish or edit content to test the updates. One common problem that can afflict WordPress pings to FeedBurner involves cache plugins. If you have enabled a caching plugin for your WordPress site, disable it temporarily and test whether your feed updates. If it does, you will need to disable caching of RSS for your plugin or install an alternative WordPress cache plugin.
