Texas Wedding Decoration Ideas
The theme of a wedding sets the mood and ambience for the ceremony. Therefore, it can be difficult to select a theme that creates the emotions you wish you to evoke within your guests. One way to convey a casual and homey feel at your wedding ceremony is to choose a Texas theme. Enhance this theme by creating a variety of Texas decorations for the event.

Lighting
-
Create a romantic and intimate feel at your ceremony through a variety of lighting effects. For an indoor space and more casual look, select copper lamps of varying shapes and sizes and place them around your room for romantic lighting. For an outdoor ceremony, light up the aisle with candles in various glass containers. Select containers with a western-feel or ones that have emblems of Texas such as the Texas star or flag on the container. Use LED lights to avoid any chance of fire during your ceremony.
Seat Decor
-
Cover your guests' seats in red, white and blue material to mimic the colors of the Texas flag. Designate the sections such as family, friends of the bride and friends of the groom using the three colors. For a more formal look, decorate the plain seat covers with a Texas star on the back using silver glitter paint.

Flowers and Plants
-
Decorate your space using a variety of Texas-themed plants and flowers. For a casual feel, select cactus representative of the rural parts of Texas. Scatter bluebonnets, the flower of Texas, down the aisle in place of more traditional rose petals. Fill tall glass vases with other Texas wildflowers such as the magnolia or wisteria vine. After the ceremony, move the arrangements to the tables at your wedding reception.
Welcome Table
-
Set up a table at the entrance of your wedding where friends and family sign the guestbook. Place the table outside the chapel, rather than inside, if your ceremony takes place in a church. Use a Texas flag-themed fabric to cover the table, instead of a tablecloth. Frame pictures of Texas symbols and maps of your favorite Texas cities and place them around the table and guestbook. Add a basket with small Texas flags, along with a note asking each guest to wave a flag during the procession after the wedding ceremony.
