Remarriage Wedding Gift Ideas

Sometimes a wedding gift for a second marriage will not come in a box or envelope.

Traditional wedding gifts such as toasters, blenders and towels sets are not as practical for a bride’s second wedding as it would be for her first. These items are generally already a part of the couple’s household stockpile and not needed. When finding a gift for someone’s second wedding you will want to think outside the box and get the couple something they will truly use.

  1. Getaway

    • Because of work, kids, money concerns and other commitments, there is not enough time for the newlyweds to escape for a honeymoon after the wedding. Give the couple a chance to get away for a weekend at a bed and breakfast, theme park resort or spa resort by creating a package that they can use at a later date. This type of package will give the couple a chance to go on a getaway when it is convenient for them.

    Household

    • If this is a bride’s second wedding, chances are she does not need the gadgets and what nots that are traditionally registered for. Rather than buy from a registry list, hire a local house cleaning service for the bride. Other services to sign the bride and groom up for may include lawn care or maintenance service to get something that needs taking care of in the home fixed.

    Family Gift

    • Many times with a second marriage there are kids involved from either the bride, the groom or both. Rather than purchase something for the couple to do alone, find something everyone in the family will benefit from and enjoy. Some ideas can include tickets to a local theme park or fair, a dinner cruise, skiing reservations or a fishing excursion.

    Out of the House

    • While planning a second wedding, chances are the couple had to give up going out because of the money needed to pay for the wedding. There are different activities that can be prepaid for to help the couple get out of the house and on a date once again. Some activities may include taking a chartered boat ride, going on a tour of a local winery, going to the theatre or watch a professional sporting event. Other ideas can include purchasing a membership to a local museum, zoo or botanical garden.
