Displaying Scarves at Craft Shows

Craft shows provide an attractive venue for artisans to display and sell handiwork. Eye-catching displays pull shoppers in and increase the possibility of sales. While space and display options may limit how much of your wares you can set out individually, displaying several samples gives potential buyers the opportunity to imagine your scarf as a wardrobe accessory.

Use Manikins

  • Small manikins of the upper torso make easy and logical display models for displaying scarves at your craft show. Employ multiple manikins and you can display different ways to wear scarves, in addition to modeling some of the most colorful and distinctive samples. Encourage buyers to examine different options for wear as they shop for a scarf that appeals to them. Chat with buyers about different ways to use a scarf, such as adding color and variety to a table top, decorate a window or to accent or decorate a gift.

Hanging Displays

  • String ropes around the corners of your booth space and hang several scarves on plastic hangers and hang them on the rope. Alternatively, drape the scarves on the ropes, overlapping them several inches so the buyer can see different designs, handle the fabric and still get around inside you craft booth. In either case, fold thin scarves in thirds and fold the large square scarves in fourths to create a long, thin strip and then fold the lengths of the strip into thirds to hang.

Wear Scarves

  • Wear your scarves and become a walking billboard for your art. Choose unusual ways to wear your scarf. Use a long, thin scarf as a necklace by twisting it into a rope and placing knots at spaced intervals to keep it twisted. Tie a scarf around your waist and wear it as a belt. Fold one third of a large scarf down and tie the folded edge around your waist to use it as a beach cover-up. If you have long hair, tie a scarf in a bow around your hair to keep a pony tail neat. Your ideas will inspire shoppers to use scarves creatively.

Decorative Displays

  • If you have necklaces or other jewelry items, use a scarf as part of your display. Drape scarves around the bases of vases or bunched up around the base of a fruit bowl. Spread a vibrant and colorful scarf flat and place it in as a work of art. Fly thin and light scarves around the edges of your booth as flags and attention grabbers. Your decorating ideas will spark ideas your shoppers can use.
