Grass Mats Craft
Grass mats are flat pieces of fabric woven with green plastic which represent pieces of lawn. Decorators use these pieces to build mock scenery, such as mock lawns inside of buildings or faux foliage outside. Crafters are often interested in this fake lawn material, especially when building a basic lawn inside the house, which is outfitted with a fence and flowers.

Materials Needed
-
The materials needed for an attractive grass mat craft include, beside the grass mats, potted plants and a fence. The craft will fit the chosen area, that is, it will be as big or as small as necessary to make the bare area look impressive. Individual grass mats are available in different sizes, so the size of the display depends on the amount of space available.
The Flower Pots
-
The flower pots will be filled with fake or live flowers. The choice to use live or fake flowers depends on the crafter's preference to care for plants. The pots are decorated or left bare; natural earth tones offset the grass mat in well lit rooms while bright pastels bring color into darker areas. Again, the pot depends on the creator's taste, but the pots are useful to enhance the decorated area.

The Fence
-
A fence around the grass mat helps define the edges of the craft. The fence is placed either around the whole craft or on one edge of the craft. The type of fence depends on the taste of the decorator, but many different types are available. Genuine wood or metal fences are created on small scales as are plastic replicas of fences which are useful with grass mat crafts.
Putting It All Together
-
Use a cardboard or craft board base to put this decoration together. Simple craft glue, used to line the bottom board, will hold the grass mats in place. The potted plants can be attached permanently with super glue or craft glues; if the plants are alive it is best to leave them unattached to allow the decorator to remove the plants if they become diseased or die. The fencing is attached not only to the craft board but also to the edge of the grass mats to hold the whole project together.
