Ladle the oil out of the fryer with a scoop until empty. Place the old oil in a receptacle and dispose of it properly at your city's dump.
Scraping

The sides and bottom of the deep fryer will contain a film of food debris if you've used it for a considerable length of time. Use a scraping tool, such as a putty knife, to remove the excess debris from the deep fryer. After you have scraped the sides and bottom of the deep fryer, collect the debris and dispose of it in the garbage.

Soap

An effective way to cut through the grease in the deep fryer is to fill the fryer with water, add several drops of dish soap and turn the fryer on. Wait for the water to boil thoroughly for a few minutes, and then turn off the deep fryer and wait until the water has cooled completely. Remove the water and dry the deep fryer with a rag or paper towels. Then, run your hand around the inside of the fryer to check if it's still greasy. If not, fill the fryer with clean water to remove any soap residue.

If grease residue remains after boiling soapy water in the fryer, mix water and vinegar together at a ratio of roughly 1 part vinegar to 9 parts water. Dip a rag in the solution and rub the inside of the fryer thoroughly. The vinegar will help to cut any grease that remains.
