What Can You Use to Border a Driveway?
Your driveway is much more than the entrance to your garage and your home. The space between the road and your home can also be the perfect venue for your landscaping style and personal taste. The key to making your driveway landscape work is to incorporate that space into your overall home decor. Does this Spark an idea?

Solar Lights
-
Lining your driveway with solar lights serves a practical as well as a decorative purpose. Once those solar lights are in place, your driveway will be more visible, which can be important in bad weather and in the winter, when you must both leave for work and return home when it's dark. Home improvement centers and hardware stores sell an assortment of solar lights in many different sizes, all designed to soak up sunlight during the day and use that energy when the sun has set.
Flower Beds
-
Lining your driveway with colorful flowers can really add to the curb appeal of your home. You can design a single long flower bed along each side of the driveway or break up the space by creating several different square or circular flower beds, each with a different type of flower or different color. If you prefer, you can line your driveway with containers filled with colorful plants and flowers instead.

Rock Garden
-
Using the space along the sides of your driveway to create a rock garden reduces the amount of grass you need to mow, making it a good choice for homeowners with large lots. Lining the driveway with rocks and stones can also help to improve drainage, which can be quite important if you live in a low-lying area or a spot that is prone to flooding after a heavy rain.
Trees
-
Lining your driveway with trees can provide a great look and some much-needed shade as those trees grow and mature. You can line your driveway with the same kind of trees or alternate the varieties for a different look. Just be sure to leave enough space between the trees so that they do not grow into one another's space.
