Easy Upload for Picasa
While it may be nostalgic to dust off old photo albums and show them to friends and family, there are easier ways to store thousands of photos and share them with people you know online. One free digital photo organizer and uploader, Picasa, lets you upload images to the program's libraries, to a series of Web albums and even to social the networking site Facebook.

Picasa is a free software program developed by Google. With the program, you can collect and organize digital images on your computer. Once these images are sorted into Picasa's digital libraries stored on your computer, you can edit them, share them online, upload them to Picasa Web albums or upload them to Facebook.
Uploading to Picasa

Before you upload pictures to the Web or Facebook, you can quickly scan your computer for photos or upload photos to Picasa from an external device. Open Picasa and click "File." Click "Add Folder to Picasa" to upload an entire folder of photos on your hard drive to the program. Click "Add File to Picasa" to add an individual photo file. Or, click "Import From" to upload photos from a CD, DVD or USB drive.

Web Uploading

Double-click on the Picasa icon on your computer's desktop. Once the program opens, click on the entry in the top right-hand corner of the screen marked "Sign In to Web Albums." Enter your Google account's username and password in the appropriate boxes. Click "Sign In." Once signed in, click on a photo to highlight it. To select multiple photos, hold down the "Shift" key and click on multiple photos. Right-click on any of the highlighted photos and click "Upload to Picasa Web Albums." Click on the "Upload" button in the window that appears to upload the photos to Picasa's Web albums.
Upload to Facebook

Log in to your Facebook account. Type "Picasa" in the text search bar at the top of the screen. Click on "Picasa Uploader" in the drop-down menu, and then click "Go to App" in the window that appears. Click "Install Now." Click "Facebook" in the install window that appears, and then click "Add." A Picasa Uploader window appears with your Picasa photos. Click on each photo you want to upload to Facebook. After you click a photo, click on the "Hold" button to queue up many photos for upload at once. When finished selecting photos, click on "Facebook," then "Allow" when prompted. Click "Create a New Album" to create a new Facebook album for your Picasa pictures. Finally, click "Upload" to upload the photos and complete the process.
