Tractor-inspired activities are the highlight of your John Deere party.

When your little farmer requests a John Deere party theme, don’t fret. Games and activities for a John Deere party may be easier than you think. Look for inspiration in the tractors, work vehicles and farm equipment manufactured by this company. From tractor-pulled hayrides to sandbox construction digs with John Deere toys, your guests will be entertained in authentic farm style. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Tractor Crafts

    • Set up an arts and crafts table with John Deere coloring books, crayons, green and yellow cardstock, markers and accessories, such as scissors, tape, glue and stickers. Children may simply wish to color the pages of the coloring books, or they can cut out the tractor images from the coloring pages to use as templates for their own cardstock cutouts. Once the cutouts are made, they can decorate them with the additional supplies.

    Sandbox Dig

    • Fill one sandbox with sand and another with hay. Bury trinkets in the sand and hay. With John Deere toy trucks, guests can dig in the sand to uncover the treasures. Place John Deere toy tractors in the hay pile, so kids can plow through the hay to find the toys. Set the boxes up as free-play activities, or incorporate them into games where kids have to race to find the most treasures within a designated amount of time.

    Wheelbarrow Races

    • John Deere wheelbarrows offer a variety of race ideas. For a wheelbarrow relay, separate guests into two teams. Stand half of the players from each team on one side of the yard, with the remaining half lined up several feet away. Give each team a wheelbarrow. On the start signal, the first player in line must push the wheelbarrow, pick up one of his teammates on the other side, and return her to the starting line. The second player in line must then grab the wheelbarrow and go retrieve another player. The first team to have all of their players on one side wins.

Set up an obstacle course in the yard. Divide party guests into teams. Stand players from each team at designated stopping points along the course. When the race begins, the starting player must race to the first point, where he hands off the wheelbarrow to his waiting teammate. She then races to the next point to deliver the wheelbarrow to the next runner. The first team to maneuver their wheelbarrow through the entire course wins.

    Hayride

    • Take party guests for a traditional hayride. A tractor-pulled hayride suits the party theme, so if you don’t own a tractor, inquire about a rental or arrange for a ride on a nearby farm. Play word games or have a sing-along as you ride through the country. Take advantage of the photo opportunity the hayride provides. Bring along props such as cowboy hats and bandanas and encourage guests to get silly as they pose for the camera.
