But between the cost of food, cocktails, decorations and other items, the price of hosting a Super Bowl party adds up fast. For a fun-filled Super Bowl party on a budget, make your own decorations. You can slash expenses as well as display your creativity and show off your team loyalty. Best of all, these simple projects make for an enjoyable activity for people of all ages.

Team Mobiles

Design your own Super Bowl-themed hanging mobile decoration with a few simple items and easy steps. Print and cut out team logos, player pictures and other iconic football symbols such as footballs and helmets. Use can get these items off the Internet. Glue the pictures onto team-colored card stock or heavy construction paper and trim around the paper, following its shape, to create a durable backing with a border. Push thin wire lengthwise through a soft, foam football and gather the ends at the top, forming a triangle from which to hang your mobile.
