Tricks to Keep Hair From Tangling
Long hair can be versatile and attractive, but it does come with the drawback of tangles. Tangles are painful to deal with and, jf not handled properly, can damage your hair as you try to remove them. To avoid a mess of tangles the next time you brush, consider where you will spend your day, the quality of your hair and your hygiene habits. Does this Spark an idea?

Conditioning
-
Leave-in conditioner is good for your hair and helps manage your tangles. Lightly spritz your hair with leave-in conditioner shortly after you wake up and tousle your hair with your hands to help spread it. Use it sparingly so your hair doesn’t start to look greasy. Brush your hair afterward to help spread it. The leave-in conditioner works immediately, leaving your hair soft and slippery. This will keep the strands from knotting together as you go about your daily business.
Brushing
-
The way you brush your hair can actually lead to tangles instead of taming them. Brushing from the crown of your head down to the tips can damage your hair, which makes it more prone to tangling. It also causes the hair to spring back up, which can lead to more unpleasant tangles. Start brushing from the ends and slowly work your way up. Use short, quick brushing movements to quickly detangle your hair without causing rebound or damage.

Washing Schedule
-
Washing your hair too often leaves it dry and prone to tangling. But not washing it often enough can also lead to tangles as dirt builds up on the strands. Find the happy medium between clean and dirty hair where it will be healthy without tangling. Start by switching your washing schedule to every two days. Extend the time between your washing to three days maximum if you notice your hair is dry and brittle. This gives your hair time to restore its natural oils.
Windy Day Care
-
The wind is one of the worst offenders when it comes to tousling your hair and creating a mess of tangles. Check the forecast to determine the weather conditions for the day. If the winds are going to be strong, pin back your hair in a style that sits close to your head. A bun or long braid works well because they don’t let your hair flow in the wind. When you arrive home at the end of the day, release your hair and it will be as smooth and untangled as it was when you put it up.
