Traditional Bridal Makeup
On your wedding day, you want your makeup to look perfect, but you may not be sure how to achieve the traditional look for your bridal makeup. You know you need to add some special touches beyond your daily foundation and lip gloss, especially if you don't wear much makeup. Pay close attention to every area of your face for a beautiful, yet traditional look on your wedding day. Does this Spark an idea?

Foundation
-
Take special care with your skin on your wedding day so you have a natural look in your pictures. Apply a moisturizer, then a primer to help your foundation last. Use a matte foundation that matches your skin color, and blend well with a brush. Apply undereye concealer. Finish with a powder, which will really help cut down on any shine.

Cheeks

You want your blush to last throughout the day. To set the cheek color, apply a gel blush first, right on top of your foundation. Next, use powder blush in the same shade. Smile when you apply the blush so you can place it right on the apples of your cheeks. Blend up. Use either a warm or cool blush that complements your skin tone and one that reflects the season.

Eyes
-
You'll want your eyes to stand out on your special day. Stick with matte or lightly shimmery eye shadow shades. Avoid too much glitter, because it is not flattering with a camera flash. Apply a skin tone of eye shadow all over the eyelid. Next, apply a light brown eye shadow on the lower lid and in the crease, then blend well. Carefully apply a dark brown or gray eye shadow on the outer corners only, but blend a small amount along the bottom lashes. Use a waterproof eyeliner in dark brown or black brown. Black eyeliner contrasts too starkly with the eyes. Curl your lashes and use waterproof mascara, making sure to comb out clumps. Carefully groom eyebrows.
Lips
-
You want your lips to look full and kissable on the big day. Apply a lip liner to add definition to your lips. You have several options. Fill the lips in with the lip liner and add a lip gel, or use a lipstick shade close to the liner color. Blot the lips, then reapply for staying power, or apply a tinted gel, again in a shade close to the liner color. Avoid too much gloss, which reflects in photographs. Finish with dusting powder to keep the color in place.
