Bridal Makeup Checklist
Pictures from the wedding day will forever capture the makeup that the bride wears. Bridal makeup should not embrace current trends, as this will date the pictures and age the bride. Rather, bridal makeup should allow the natural beauty of the bride to shine through while accenting the important features of her natural face. Using a checklist to remember the important details of the bridal makeup is an effective way to avoid mishaps on the day of the wedding. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Waterproof Mascara
-
Choose a waterproof mascara to wear to the wedding. If waterproof mascara does not provide the look that the bride wants, apply a coat of waterproof mascara on top of the regular mascara to waterproof the mascara. Weddings are emotional, and if you shed tears of joy, you don't want them to ruin your makeup.
Brow Highlighter
-
Accent the eyes by applying a highlighter to the area underneath the arch of the eyebrow. Brow highlighter makes the eyes appear brighter and more open while maintaining a natural look. Select a brow highlighter that is just a few shades lighter than the bride’s complexion.
-
Eye Drops
-
Pack eye drops with the bridal makeup and bring them to the reception. Use the eye drops to prevent red eyes in case the bride cries or becomes emotional.
Naturally Colored Blush
-
Select a natural colored blush to highlight the cheekbones. Select the correct shade of pink that provides a natural highlight to the bride’s particular shade of skin. Blushes within the pink range will provide the most natural appearance.
Natural Colored Bronzer
-
Select a natural colored bronzer to highlight the forehead, chest and neck area as needed. Select a gold tone for the bronzer regardless of skin color. Gold tones provide the most natural appearance against the skin.
Moisturizer with SPF
-
Select a moisturizer with sunscreen specially formulated for the face to wear to the wedding. This is especially important if the wedding will be held outdoors. Wearing sunscreen to the wedding will prevent the skin from appearing pink and flushed in the pictures.
Lip Stick for Touch ups
-
Select a natural colored lipstick to bring to the reception for touch ups. This lipstick may be a different color than the one applied before the wedding. Ask the maid of honor to carry the touch up lipstick to the wedding.
Makeup Trial Run
-
Schedule a date with a makeup artist to apply the makeup that will be worn on the wedding day. Take a picture of the bride wearing the makeup prior to the wedding day. If the bride will apply her own makeup for the wedding day, ask the makeup artist to teach the techniques used to apply the makeup.
